Anita Mikaelian, Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)

About Me.

I take a person-centred approach, grounded in the belief that you are more than your challenges with your own story and strengths. I integrate techniques from emotion-focused therapy, CBT, and Mindfulness, and tailor our work to your unique needs. Whether you're looking for space to explore difficulties, navigate complex emotions, or reflect on life’s deeper questions, my role is to support you with empathy and care as I help guide you toward healing.

My areas of focus include anxiety and depression, grief, family and relationship dynamics, parenting and infertility, life transitions, self-esteem, trauma and PTSD, work and career concerns, chronic illness, and managing stress and burnout. I also bring cultural sensitivity to my work, informed by lived experience and an understanding of both collectivist and individualistic worldviews and values.

I invite you to connect with me, and would be honoured to be part of your journey.

A bit more about me - through photos…

Many of the images on this website are personal, captured during moments that help me reconnect and rebalance in the outdoors.

The grasses on the homepage are from a local park where my family has rolled down hills in the summer and tobogganed in the winter. The snail on a leaf appeared during a neighbourhood walk. The image of the boardwalk comes from a camping trip at an Ontario provincial park shared with dear friends. The reddening bush grows in a family member’s yard which was enjoyed on many long summer afternoons. The dried hydrangea was passed along by a delightful neighbour. And you will see part of a striking tree encountered on a memorable trip through Asia.

“Every morning we are born again.
What we do today is what matters most.”
